Dog books

Two years ago I have bought a dog book and now I finally have some time to read it. And I enjoy it. It`s nothing new, just well known things. With this new puppy school group I have, I need to know more and more, many ways of explaining things, why do they work.

I have some more dog books I would like to read. And I hope in next months I will find some more time to do that.
I have also started with target training today. I have to find somebody to videotape me. I had so much fun with my little Boom - in just one session he knew how to lift his left legs. As I started laughing to him, his action was more and more energetic. Very fun.

Autumn

Today I was thinking how much I like autumn, but just sunny autumn days, with magnificent colours in nature. You can`t see so much differnet colours nowhere else but in nature. And I enjoy every sunny autumn day outside, with my daughter and dogs.

Two days ago we had such a beautiful day I just couldn`t resist going out, with my camera, and try to get some nice photos. I think I made some nice photos of Pina - I could say my oldie in her autumn. For sure she is my favourite object to take photos off, she is so fotogenic (and she really iknoiwws how to stay still, untill I take photo or two or three ......). I also like taking pictures of Toy - he always has smile on his face, no mather what he`s doing (walking around, doing agility, catching balls or just sleeping).

We also found a mushroom and made some photos of it. I`m publishing just best of them.

October 2008

So many things happened in October, and I didn't have any time to write about them. Huh.
Here are just short notes about everything.
11th and 12th October: I was attending an obedience seminar given by Mia Skogster (the first person who got 100 points in obedience ever). And I must admit I was pretty impresed by her, her work and by her self-disciplin most. I think she has a special gift, she can "read" every dog in just minute or even less. And she always has some idea about solving problem. She gave me some good ideas for making our big (I`m talking about my obedience with Gra) turns smaller and tighter - and I think +it`s working already.
17th October: I was on agility compeition, and made a second exam (for A2) with my little precious boy Boomi. It seems he`s coming back after that heavy fall on European open, he is getting more and more confident again. My crazy oldie Toy was third in A3 class. I was also running with Eni and Gra, but have no good result with them.

I have started a new puppy group in dog school, and I'm looking forward to work with them. I also have a new assistant in this classes, and I'm very happy that she decided to join and help me.
I'm also making some new video of dog tricks, but you'll have to be bit more patient for that.
And I also have one big news, but more about that next time. Some of you already know about my dreams, and that they are finally coming true. You'll know everything in next month.

Judging in Trbovlje

Yesterday I have judged on agility competition in Trbovlje.
It was a very nice competition, and I have seen some pretty nice and smooth runs. Congratulations to all who have made it through.
I was very happy, because I got an approval from older judge colleggue, and I was proud as he liked my courses. Thank you. But on the other side, some of them will never admit that I'm a good judge (I have heard some words about some of my decisions - and I can't believe, how somebody who's standing 20m away from the A-frame, thinks that can judge contact better than me, who was standing half meter away - and more sad it's that person is also a judge ) perhaps better than themselves, and that my courses are nice.

Happy Birthday Eni, Bibi and Boom

My dear Eni, today you're 7 years old, and I wish you will live twice more. Your're like my shadow, always near me, with one eye checking where I am. You're so MINE.

On your 5th birthday you gave birth to 3 more miniature pinchers, 2 girls and 1 boy. Two of them are still with me - Boom and Bibi.

Today Bibi and Boom are two years old, and they are all I have dreamed off (self-confident, happy, good natured, beautiful). They both are great dogs to live with.

Bibi's biggest passion is Gra - her play mate for all the time. Stay my little maniac, crazy wild doggy, sweet and playfull, my arms are your greatest toy:

To my sweet little Boom, who's biggest passion are all sort of dog tricks, standing on front feet or just observing world from my back.

Maribor,14.9.2008-RO-II

For the first time I was competing in RO-II and endded on 2nd place with my precious Graa. We are getting better and better.
Thanks to Alenka and Jasna (Jasna is owner of Graa's full brother Grom) I have a video of our work.

Crazy weekend

Past weekend was full of dog events again.
On Saturday we were on the agility competition in Ljubljana - KD Krim. It was a long trial, and we also had teams competition. I had my own little team, consisting of Eni, Toy and Boom. I was eliminated with little Boom, but I was running very good with Toy and Eni. Finally I made an exam with Boom (but still have to do 2 more, to get to higher level - A2). I was quite happy with his run (he's coming back after European Open), he just stopped on the dog-walk but even though he did a very good contact. I measured Tit this weekend, and it lookes like he's small also (34,5 cm).
On Sunday our club (KD Barje) organised official raily obedience competition. And I have to say it was one of my better performances. I was competing in RO-I class with Graa, and ended on 6th place. I was very happy when she did almost perfect left 270 degree turn (I have most difficulties with it, so I was very happy because this exercise is improving). She did all the exams very nice, and her heeling was almost perfect. We're getting better from competition to competition. I'm thinking about going to the competition in KD Maribor next weekend.
It will be busy weekend again - on saturday we have agility competition in Hrušica, and on sunday we're going (most probably) to RO competition.

Sad

Some thing are happening in my life and I should be proud about about them, but it seems like I'm not allowed to be. And I'm so sad, because I can't share it with person who means so much to me. I think she won't understand, not at this moment. And it makes me so sad, I can't find the words to describe it. And I don't have anybody to share my enthusiasm with, nobody to share doubts, nobody to be happy with me. I think I will be misunderstood, I only want the best for everybody. But what can I do, I'm optimistic about everything.
But thinks get better ........ once.

Agility4Fun

This unoffical competition was a big success. We had over 100 runs in two categories. Althought, the weather on saturday was very bad, it was raining pretty heavily and rain didn't stop thorught whole night, I was very happy when it stoped in the morning. While I was driving to Ljubljana, sun came out and started to use all his power to make a beautiful day. We had a beautiful sunny weather whole day, there was plenty of watter on the ground, so the dogs had plenty of opportunities to cool them. I even saw some handlers running through watter.
I would like to thank everybody who came on this event, and unselfishly helped me. You all were great. I think this was my first competition, where I didn't hear anybody complaining. But the main persons, who normally aren't satisfied with anything and always find something to complain about, were absent. So I really was very happy with the day.

Just a sign that I'm still alive

This month has been so full of happenings, that I didn't have any time for writting here. And here is just a short note of what happened.
I was pretty much working for double National show CAC Zasavje & CAC Trbovlje, which will happen in the last weekend in August (30th & 31st August). And all is going very well (I'm very happy I finally learned how to put some things together and much more about the program for shows). And I hardly wait. I'm looking forward to meet Karli again (he's coming with five of his dogs - so there will be plenty dogs to cuddle).
This weekend, on sunday, our dog club (Kinološko društvo Barje) is organising unofficial agility competition under the name Agility4Fun (I didn't expect so many people to enter - last year we had about 30 people, this year we have over 60 and they will be running over 100 runs)- it's very funny, because on this competition we allow competitors to change dogs between themselves, and it's great opportunity to give your dog to somebody else. So I have given two of my dogs to run with somebody else, Gra will be running with Katja and Urška, and Toy will be running with Barbara and Daša. I will run with Eni, Bibi and Boom, Maja will be running with Pina and I think that are all my dogs. ANd I'm very happy because for the firt time, some of my students will be running - they are Jan with beagle Chivas, Eva with kerry blue terrier Kiara and Tjaša with staffordshire bullterrier Zoya.
And something else happened: on 7th September our club is organising one more competition - but this time Raily obedience competition. It's something new for me (organisation of that kind of competition) but I'm very happy about the fact I have made something in this club and things started to happen.
I think I will dropp some short note here after Agility4Fun.

I can say only, that I'm very pleased with our runs, and with her responding at the moment - I think you can see the difference - thanks to Marc once more ;)
Boom - jumping (he crashed into the doublle jump, and I decided to stop and make sure he's OK, and then run to the end - so I was disqualified)

Eni - agility (you can see a very bad handling, and very good running despite to it- I think that weekend Eni was running like crazy and I'm very happy about that)

Crazy dogs

Since there is a holiday in agility world also, we have to spent our time somehow else. And frisbee is a great way to spend some time. I take my camera and I try to make some good photos of my dogs. And this time I have some good photos I would like to share with you.

Tit is now over one year old, and he is a really great dog, he's always full of energy, funny, cooperative, he adore all sort of toys. Some photos of him.

It's very hard to make a good photo of Gra - so I'm very happy when I manage to do something good.








We are planning some trips over Slovenia in next days, so we will try to make more photos and keep you informed.

European Open 2008

Last weekend we were on one of the biggest events in agility world - European Open. I was participating with little Boom, Eni and Toy and also croatian sheepdog Gra. I don't have any result to be proud of, but I'm very happy with almost all of my runs.
We left our home on thursday morning and in Slovenia weather was sunny. Although I checked the weather report for Germany (and it was really bad) I hoped for the best. When we drove closer and closer to Germany, weather got worse and worse. In the evening we drove to Gelsenkirchen and it was raining. We put up our tent and made our little camp with other slovenians.
When we woke up on friday it was raining. We want to check in and made a little training at 11 o'clock. Boom and Gra fell off the dog-walk on training, and I decided not to run at full speed with them. Unfortunately I didn't remember to put up a double and combine obstacle for little Boom (because he had never seen it in his life). I was very pleased with our training, so I was very happy about this competition.
On saturday we started with jumping course with minpins. Eni was first running from my pack and she was running very good and fast (I'm so sorry I don't have this run taped). Then it was Boom's turn and unfortunately he crashed into double obstacle, mad a salto, so I picked him up to make him calmer and then ran on - it was disqualification of course. I made a big mistake with Toy and on the combined obstacle got a refusal (because of warning him to much about it).
The day went on and we were also running agility courses. I made a realy nice agility course with Gra and I'm very proud of it. You will see it on video. I will publish it later.
On sunday we had team copmpetitions, but I run very bad (it was raining all the time and it was impossible to run in all that mud).
I met some very nice people there and this years EO will stay in my memory. I don't remember when it was so cold in july and we drunk enormous liters of tea, but we played cards (Tarok) late in the night. It was a great event, and we're planning it next year also - in Netherlands.

Iški Vintgar

Last friday was very hot, so we spent it in Iški Vintgar, a little valley near Ljubljana. It's our destination for hot summer days. Dogs enjoyed very much, and so did Maja and I. I think we were main attraction there. Dogs were yuite loud (as usual) and we didn't stay unnoticed. We had such a fun - but we always do when we are together somewhere.
