Videos from European Open - part 2.

Here are some more videos.
Eni - jumping (I liked this run very much, Eni was running very fast, she saw combined jump first time in her life and she did it careful but still managed it, she went into the tunnel very quickly and fell on her left side at the end of it, but still ran forward with full speed)

Toy - jumping ( I wasn't able to get any good run from Toy, he was to crazy for me)

Toy - agility (once more disqualified, but still running like crazy and barking all the way)

Videos from European Open

Finally I have found some time to put videos from European Open on youtube.
I have some more, but you will have to wait bit more for them.
Gra - agility (I think this was my best run that weekend and I was very happy when we made it with only one refusal at the end)

Gra - jumping (there were to many tunnels on our way )

I can say only, that I'm very pleased with our runs, and with her responding at the moment - I think you can see the difference - thanks to Marc once more ;)
Boom - jumping (he crashed into the doublle jump, and I decided to stop and make sure he's OK, and then run to the end - so I was disqualified)

Eni - agility (you can see a very bad handling, and very good running despite to it- I think that weekend Eni was running like crazy and I'm very happy about that)

You will get some more videos tomorrow (I have Eni's jumping and Toy's agility and jumping). Untill then you enjoy in this videos.

Crazy dogs

Since there is a holiday in agility world also, we have to spent our time somehow else. And frisbee is a great way to spend some time. I take my camera and I try to make some good photos of my dogs. And this time I have some good photos I would like to share with you.
Tit is now over one year old, and he is a really great dog, he's always full of energy, funny, cooperative, he adore all sort of toys. Some photos of him.

Almost got ya

It's very hard to make a good photo of Gra - so I'm very happy when I manage to do something good.

We are planning some trips over Slovenia in next days, so we will try to make more photos and keep you informed.

European Open 2008

Last weekend we were on one of the biggest events in agility world - European Open. I was participating with little Boom, Eni and Toy and also croatian sheepdog Gra. I don't have any result to be proud of, but I'm very happy with almost all of my runs.
We left our home on thursday morning and in Slovenia weather was sunny. Although I checked the weather report for Germany (and it was really bad) I hoped for the best. When we drove closer and closer to Germany, weather got worse and worse. In the evening we drove to Gelsenkirchen and it was raining. We put up our tent and made our little camp with other slovenians.
When we woke up on friday it was raining. We want to check in and made a little training at 11 o'clock. Boom and Gra fell off the dog-walk on training, and I decided not to run at full speed with them. Unfortunately I didn't remember to put up a double and combine obstacle for little Boom (because he had never seen it in his life). I was very pleased with our training, so I was very happy about this competition.
On saturday we started with jumping course with minpins. Eni was first running from my pack and she was running very good and fast (I'm so sorry I don't have this run taped). Then it was Boom's turn and unfortunately he crashed into double obstacle, mad a salto, so I picked him up to make him calmer and then ran on - it was disqualification of course. I made a big mistake with Toy and on the combined obstacle got a refusal (because of warning him to much about it).
The day went on and we were also running agility courses. I made a realy nice agility course with Gra and I'm very proud of it. You will see it on video. I will publish it later.
On sunday we had team copmpetitions, but I run very bad (it was raining all the time and it was impossible to run in all that mud).
I met some very nice people there and this years EO will stay in my memory. I don't remember when it was so cold in july and we drunk enormous liters of tea, but we played cards (Tarok) late in the night. It was a great event, and we're planning it next year also - in Netherlands.

Iški Vintgar

Last friday was very hot, so we spent it in Iški Vintgar, a little valley near Ljubljana. It's our destination for hot summer days. Dogs enjoyed very much, and so did Maja and I. I think we were main attraction there. Dogs were yuite loud (as usual) and we didn't stay unnoticed. We had such a fun - but we always do when we are together somewhere.
I have some photos from this trip:

Gra and Maja enjoyed in water and it was misson impossible to get them out of there:

It was very hot and even Pina went into the water:

and after she and Toy enjoyed in sun (while we were in water)
And best friend posing together

Seaside

Today we are leaving Grosuplje, and going to Portorose (slovenian city on coast). Tomorrow there will be an agility competition - this will be an afternoon/night competition. It's one of my favourite compeition. Maja is going as well and we'll spend some time in the sea.
Friend from Postojna - Ivan invited us to present the agility at the horse day in Postojna, so we'll be there on Sunday. Thank you Ivan. I think Maja will be running with Pina as well, so I hope Pina will be in the mood for this.
I'll make a short report next weekend.

The Miniature Pinscher

I live with miniature pinschers for more than 6 years, and I have to say I addore them. They are so beautiful breed, healthy and very active. And I can't imagine living without them.
Unfortunatelly 95% dogs in Slovenia, who's owners say they have a miniature pinscher, are mix-breed. Their parents are without pedigree, so they are without pedigree and for me that is not a Miniature pinscher, but mix-breed - cute and beloved mix-breed, but still not Miniature pinscher.
Reason for writting this down, is an e-mail I got yesterday in which a girl is selling puppies, mix-breed puppies and saying she has Miniature pinscher puppies. And it all makes me so sad and angry and I can't do anything about it. And again somebody will buy a cute puppy, and say I don't need a pedigree, because only dogs who go to shows need that paper. But this is far from truth. Pedigree is much more than a piece of paper. There are written parents, grand parents, grand grand parents and you can find much more in pedigree.
You wouldn't believe what kind of dogs are sold as Miniature pinschers, and naive owners who think thet their dog is a typical for their breed. I sometimes don't know if there is a chihuahua in front of me or what, and kind of colours they have, from almost yellow to brown with black markings, with big white markings, and white socks, and horrible short apple heads, and long as dachshunds, and ....... Horrible. And people, here in Slovenia, have completely wrong opinion about Miniature pinschers, unfortunatelly everything small and brown is called a Miniature pinscher.
At the moment we have a litter of Miniature pinschers with pedigree (who have almost the same price as the ones without) in Slovenia, who are very typical, black with beautiful dark red markings, with excellent characters, and owners have difficulties to sell them to good homes.
At the beginning, when I started breeding, I hoped for better times for this beautiful breed, but unfortunatelly it only gets worse and worse. But I'm still optimistic, we have some good Minpins in Slovenia, who were brought from abroad, and I hope we will manage to learn people what a pedigree is for, and what it means. But untill than, I can only try to explain everybody, who is able to listen, what pedigree is for.

Pictures

Thanks to Iztok and Andraž, from www.agility-slo.net , I always have beautiful photos from competitions. There are many of them, but I will put here only the best. I like those very much (because I know how hard it's to make a good picture of fast black dog)

And here is one picture of Boom - I just realised how small he is, but I think he's perfect.

Puppy school

Puppies are so great, I just addore them, working with them, and I started enjoying in teaching people how to work with their puppies, how to enjoy with them. Thanks to Katja I have some pictures of lovely little puppies.
How can you not love them? This is a little staffordshire bullterrier (SBT) named Eli, and she is only two months young, and already in school.
And we have another SBT in school - Tara (she is a bit older, she has only 3 months).

And we also have a little chinese crested dog - Fear (crazy liitle boy), who addore his owner, and has eyes only for her. On this class, his hair is a bit messy, but you can still see his beautiful face and giant bat ears.
All of them work very good, their owners have good feeling for their dogs, and I hope they will continue doing so good job.
